enabling the XP firewall.

I have followed the instructions for enabling the
internet firewall for Windows XP but when I get to step 4
and click network connections, no icons appear. Why
not? I have a dial up connection to MSN
 
Click on show all connections and see if that does
anything, it should be on the left side.
