trouble aligning new cartridges on HP G85 Officejet - fault of generic ink?

Aaron

My HP G85 recently ran out of color ink. I put in a generic Staples ink cart
I had, and now the printer cannot align the cartridges. Could this be the
fault of the generic cartridges, or is the printer on its way out? I really
don't want to go plop down $30-$40 on the HP set only to find out that the
printer is shot.

Thanks!
Aaron

Hi Aaron

I have seen this before where the printhead on a refilled cartridge has
it's nozzles out of whack. Could be contamination in the print nozzles
or just nozzles not firing. Take the cartridge back to Staples and ask
for another one or a refund.

Thanks for the tip. Took it back to Staples where they gladly gave me back
my money. I asked about the generic cart. and they said they get a lot of
them back. Needless to say, I walked out with the HP ink and printer is
back to normal.

thats because generic ink is not designed to work with the printer as a
system like factory ink
Needless to say, I walked out with the HP ink and printer is
back to normal.
this is another example of what i have been saying.
