You didn't mention your browser? Are you running that - uhm, what is
it called, ahh - Internet Explorer?

Stop using Internet Explorer and Outlook/Outlook Express.

Well, my experience is that you will lower the possibility of trojans
get into your system by using Opera or Firefox browsers.

I don't know of such program - I check my system on 6 month basis and
I've never found trojan or virus on my computer for at least 4 years.

It probably didn't "get through;" you downloaded and launched it. I'm
guessing that you realized you had a Trojan because Zone Alarm blocked
its access to the internet, so in that respect you already have
something to protect you from Trojans. No matter how many anti-malware
programs you have piled on your system though, none can protect you from
yourself.

Ian.

zone alarm did not block it...i found it while doing a scan with AntiVir

please explain your statement: No matter how many anti-malware

yourself.

i am well protected and am very vigilant

What I meant is that there is no software substitute for informed,
cautious common sense when it comes to security- vigilance, as you put
it. What was the name of the Trojan, by the way?
