Trojan Horse

The host of my guestbook "Wondbook" notified me via e-mail of a new entry.
Upon klicking on the provided URL to read this entry, Norton Anti Virus
popped up informing me: that a virus had been deposited with the name
downloader.Trojan< in my C:Document and Setting\Local Settings/sploit2.anr

Norton further stated that it could not destroy of quarantine it.
I have three questions for the experts: What is a trojan horse, can I
continue to use my e-mail, and how do I get rid of it?
