Trojan horse quanrantined but still causing problems

I recently posted a question about my "unresponsive mouse and keypad" and
received a reply from Denmarks - thank you - that it could be due to memory
overload. This all started when I had a Trojan horse, which I quarantined
with Nortons. Since I know I have plenty of memory, could it be that this
virus is still causing havoc in my hard drive? If so, how do I fix it?
Thanks!

You might consider DELETING it from the pc. Meaning Delete it from the
quarantine. If norton found it, and quarantined it, delete it from the
quarantine should remove it. (Does for me anyways) unless it is too late
