Tried to repair Vista

Hi,
I haven't found an answer to my System Restore problem and since Vista doesn't have a repair Windows install. I decided
to try to use the upgrade option to try to write over my original install. The original install was an image done at the
factory and my DVD was an OEM. Both were Vista Ultimate.
I ran the install from within Windows two times and it went all the way through to the last step. Than I saw a BSOD for
about a half a second. I couldn't read it. When Windows restored my original It had this error along with files that I
saved cause the first time I tried this it deleted those files when I sent it to tell me how to fix the problem but
neither time did it come back and tell me.

Here is the error:

I'm beginning to find the System Recovery Options in Vista rather,
"useless".

I have to agree. For this amount of money it should do at least all the things XP does.

Hi,
I tried to do a "Repair" again the third time. This time I copy/pasted ALL the files BEFORE they disappeared. I hope
this will help someone help me. The Minidump file was a bunch of garbage and the WER-44390-0.sysdata.xml was way too
large and just had my information in it so I didn't include them.
If you need the Minidump file I can email it to you. It's just to big for the N/G. I think?

There has to be a way to repair Ultimate. I can't believe MS would not do this to the consumer.
