BSOD 5 times a day - help!

Hi
I've been using Vista Business for 3 months now on new laptop with a few
teething problems. However, now I'm getting the Blue Screen of Death about 5
times a day!
Error messages are:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
RTLH86.SYS ADDRESS 8B71FFF7 AT BASE 8B716000 DATE STAMP 45EC1B12
STOP: 0X000000D1 (0X50753143, 0X00000002,0X00000000,0X50753143)

Windows gives me the following info on booting up:

I believe the driver referred to is for my Realtek Ethernet port. The
problem seems to occur especially when I open Outlook.

any help much appreciated!

I suspect you're right as the listed module, RTLH86.SYS, is a realtek
network card driver file. Try downloading and installing a new set directly
from the card manufacturer (not Windows Update).

(Davem here again - lost my login details somehow - very strange!)

Anyway, I went to Device manager and uninstalled the Realtek driver.
The PC crashed immediately.

I then rebooted in Safe Mode and succeeded in uninstalling the ethernet
card/driver. When I rebooted it automatically reinstalls and the BSOD
problem persists.

I have done search for an updated driver but none appears to exist for
Vista. The drver I have is 6.191.305.2007

Since you have a laptop, you should only be getting drivers from the laptop
mftr.'s website for your specific model machine. Since Vista came
preinstalled, the laptop mftr. must have drivers for it. Go to their
website and download the network driver and install it, even if you think
it's the same one.

If that doesn't help it's time to contact the laptop mftr. for
repair/replacement since a new machine should not misbehave like that.

Ok, I've found that Realtek released a new driver on 21/1/2008, here's the

You're having difficulties because you're using the web interface to these
newsgroups, the worst possible way to do it. Almost all of the regular
helpers use a real newsreader (as I do which is why I can't help you with
the web interface). You should set up a newsreader, which is very easy to
do. Here's how:

Since you are using the web interface, you may not realize that this is
really a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn
to use a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you
can use Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have
