trial games' files

Recently I downloaded a trial game and when the trial expired, I uninstalled
it. When I did a Start<Search<the name of the game, I found out that there
were still some files that the uninstall did not delete and this was further
evidenced when I tried to download the game again after the uninstall and it
said that 'Trial Expired'. I understand there is some sort of tracking thingy
that prevents you from downloading the game again? How can I remove all files
left over from the game. I'm just a beginner so bear with me :)

Hi

Trial programs are 'tracked' so that they can't be reinstalled. Completely
uninstalling them would proves more or less impossible as several entries
would have been added to the Registry and Windows folders. If you have
found a folder that you know is directly related to the game and nothing,
delete it to the Recycle Bin for a few days to make the deletion doesn't
cause any problems. Apart from that, there isn't much you can do about any
other files or Registry entries.

I doubt they are prevent it from being downloaded again, just preventing
the install part. So you could ask the game company what they are using
for tracking or you could just delete everything on your hard drive and
then you would be sure of removing the tracking.
