Hi all
How can I trap a dialer program that activates a dial up
connection in Win 98 or Win
XP.
These dialers are a result of malware and also certain
applications that require some sort of registration. Not
all malware/antivirus programs can detect these diallers.
Thanks
Roger

Hi,
Thanks for the help. Yes I have tries these programs. I
do not always load these programs on the machine that I
work with. Therefore I need alternate methods.
Sometimes if the dialer programs are not removed from the
add/Remove program and when the antimalware is run it
causes registry problems (sometimes anightmare)
At times these dialers do not appear anywhere.
Thanks again to all.

Well, I guess you could format and reinstall entirely, but that sounds like
overkill :-). Why not just load the recommended software and use it? If you
want to get rid of malware/spyware, that's the way.

Have you used the *latest* versions of AdAware and Spybot and CWShredder? I
haven't had problems like this - but if you've run into a particularly
recalcitrant malware app, post details about it or google it by name to see
if there's a fix.
