I have just purchased a new computer - Windows Xp and
want to tranpose my Corel Word Perfect Documents to
Microsoft word. Any suggestions?

Hello Cathy,

You should be able to open up word, for to file open under file type (bottom
center) click the drop down menu and select AllFiles(*.*) then navigate to
where you saved you work with Corel, click the file you want, then click
open, Word should automatically convert the file or ask you if you want to
convert it.

Word does a much worse job of importing WordPerfect files than the other
way around. That said you're best option is to post your questions to a
Word specific newsgroup. This one is for general Windows XP issues.
Here is a list of all MS newsgroups: http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

Assuming you've installed the correct conversion filters in both
programs, you can do it in either of two ways:

1. Save the files within WordPerfect in Word format.

2. Read the .wpd files in Word, let Word convert them, then save
them as Word files.

Try it both ways, but my guess is that the results will be better
with method 1.
