Hi Everyone,
We have this Excel application that needs to be translated into
Japanese and I have not got a clue where to start. Does anyone have
any experience of using such a character set and what is involved in
doing translations like this.
The majority of the translation will be performed on text in Cells on
worksheets but some text also exists in:
- vba code (message Boxes etc.)
- Forms
- word objects
Any help or pointers are greatly appreciated. If you have personal
experience of doing this then I would be interested to hear how much of
pain this was?

but if you wanted to know how to type Japanese character in any office programs, it's not too hard. I use WindowsXP and ME(American version) and Office 2000 and XP(American version) and added Japanese in Control Panel\Regional options\Input Locals\Add\Japanese. I do not use any special Japanese keyboard and it'd let me key "kanji", "hiragana", and "katakana" with no problem. One thing though, the Japanese only came with only 2 font options "MS Mincho" and the other I can't remember the name of it right now.
