Use of slides from Japanese Powerpoint

I would need to detect and remove Japanese characters out
of a presentation made with a Japanese version of PPT.
Did anyone have any experience with it ? When we give the
presentation to be translated in different languages, the
translation engine seems to be crashing on it. The end
presentation is more then 5 times bigger....

Any hints? even VBA workarounds ?
Thanks,

Peter

I don't know of any way to do this easily other than manually deleting the
japanese text.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply but the problem is that we can not
see any more japanese characters. that's wy I would like
to find some code to do a search for it.
ex. I suppose that the CRLF character is not visible but
it will still be seen as Japanese text ???

CRLFs, Tabs and don't forget that Japanese fonts usually contain a full roman
alphabet among other characters, so some "normal" looking text might actually
be Japanese as well.

I'm not sure I'd be able to look at this soon, but could you email me a one or
two-slide example presentation that contains both visible and invisible
Japanese text? If so, send to steve at-sign pptools dot com
