transitions

I'm working on a presentation containing 22 slides (at present). Within this
are 3 sets of transitions (each comprising 5 slides). The initial page of
each transition is linked to my home page.
From the home page each transition works fine, but when I navigate back from
the final page in the transition to home - then try to re-run the transition,
it sticks on the first page of the transition set.
Also, it seems that each set of transitions only starts from the home page -
initially. ie: the transition also doesn't work from any other page within
the presentation even though links navigate to them.
Do transitions only start from one root link?
Working XP, running Powerpoint 2003.

Let me make sure that your definition of transitions and mine are the same.
I define a transition as the effect used when "transitioning" from one slide
to another. You sound like you're defining custom shows. Take a look at

When you say home page, do you mean Slide 1?
