transitions on slides cannot be removed

I am editing a Powerpoint presentation that shows transitions between some
slides (using slide sorter view). I have attempted to remove by selecting
transition/no transition/apply to all, but this does not work. I also
attempted to remove animation in case I was incorrect in assuming the
transition was in effect, but this did not work either. Any suggestions?

Did you manage to select the "No Transition" sucessfully, or is it greyed out?
If removing both slide transition and custom animation do not work, click
View > Master > Slide Master. Check to see if any custom animation is added
on the slide master.

Yes, both the "no transition" and "no animation" were colored (not greyed
out). I can see now that the problem is with animation (flying star appears
on slides with animation), but I cannot remove. I tried your suggestion with
slide master, but there does not appear to be any custom animation.

I appreciate your effort to help; thanks for your time.

Found a solution. Since the animation appeared to be linked with pictures
imported into the presentation, I used the slide sorter view to click on
individual slides. I then right clicked on the picture and chose the
animation option. From this, a custom animation window appears on the right
side of your screen. There is a line (or multiple lines) for each custom
animation on the slide. Click on each animation and a pull down menu
appears. Click on "remove". I had to do this for each animation (there were
multiple cues for each slide) and then for each slide. I'm sure there is an
easier way, but this worked for me. Hope this helps someone else.

When you are on the slide master view, there may be more than one master.
Have you check all the masters? If it still doesn't work and the presentation
is not confidential, please send a copy to pptheaven [at] gmail . com
