How do you transfer programs? I'm getting a new computer
and want to load programs I don't have discs for. These
are programs that were paid for and downloaded from the
internet. The tranfer wizard only transfers documents and
settings? Do I need to contact the individual companies? I
saved setup wizards on some of the programs but not all.
Thanks, DB

Hi, DB. Unfortunately, in order to install programs you have to have the
installer .exe's. When you don't have cd's for them, like with things
you d/led from the Internet, the thing to do is back up the
installer .exe on something useful like a cd-r. So, unless you did
this, you have to get the programs again. Certainly you should contact
the individual companies with your proof of purchase if that will be
necessary. There isn't any way to move the programs from your old
computer.

those programs should have had some sort of .zip or .exe file along with a
reg number toaalow you to use them...can't hardly seem that your case makes
any sense...unless you pirated them....

No they were not pirated. I mistakenly deleted the
installer files on some of the programs, but not to worry
the most imprtant ones are still intact. I will just
contact those companies that I can't install as I still
have my purchase receipts and serial #'s. Thanks
to "malke" your reply was as it should be..Helpful and
not abusive like the other one, suggesting the programs
may have been pirated by me.
