transferring photos

I have just returned from a trip. I downloaded all of my photos to my lap
top. Now that I'm back home I want to transfer these photos to my main
computer. Do I have to download all the photos from the laptop to a CD then
transfer all the photos on the CD to the main computer or is there an easier
way?

This is the easiest way and in any event you want to backup all your photos
to CDs. We get too many "how do I recover lost or deleted photos" questions!
If you are on a DSL modem, it is fairly easy to set up a home network and
then it will be possible from your desktop to read the files from your
laptop and copy them.
Without creating a network, you can purchase a USB cable (from places like
Radio Shack, CompUSA etc) to connect two computers together, in essence
creating a network, after you install the software supplied with such a
cable.
