transfering registration

I don't know if this applies to this forum. if it don't please guide me in
the right direction.
I have works 2004 on a computer that recently blew up. I have a new computer
and want to get my microsoft works on it. once loaded it says the product is
already registered. Is there a way to get it on my new computer?

If your copy of Works 2004 came preinstalled on your old
computer, then it is only licensed for use on that computer, and
you cannot transfer it to any other computer. Most new
major-brand computers nowadays come with Works 8.0 or 8.5
preinstalled, so you probably don't need to transfer the old
version anyway.

Thanks for the reply. I redirected my question. also it did not come
preinstalled on my computer. I bought the suite seperate.
