transfer data to Excel

When I copy numeric data from Access and paste it into Excel, it comes up as text. How can I keep it numeric?
 
Are you doing a Ctrl+C and then a Ctrl+V when you do the copy and paste?

If yes, then double-click in the Excel cell before you paste the data, and
then do Ctrl+V in the cell. Or click in the formula bar and paste the
numbers into that location.
