Copying table data in Access to Excel

We have recently upgraded to Office 2002. We use access a lot with financial
data - tables containing text values along with numeric values. In the past
we could select data in a table & copy to the clipboard and into Excel - -
where text became text and numeric values remained numeric values. Now, it
seems that everything converts to text when pasted - even numeric values. If
we want to paste numbers as numeric, we need to past as a CSV format - which
messes up other text fields.

Wondering if we're missing something, or if there is an easier way to handle
this. Thanks!

I'd suggest using File... Export to export the data to Excel rather
than copy and paste. Or, you can use VBA code using the
TransferSpreadsheet method.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago and found that there was a bug
in Access. Microsoft had a patch for it, but now that I re-installed Access
2002 I can't find the damn thing! I'm gonna keep searching and I'll let you
know if I find it on the Microsoft web site.
