Trademark Symbol

R

Rita L.

I have Windows XP Home and Excel 2000. I am trying to put the Registered
Trademark Symbol next to a name in an Excel document. It's the R within
a Circle symbol. I cannot find out how to do this. Can anyone help?
TIA. Rita

Take a look at http://desktoppub.about.com/cs/finetypography/ht/copyright_tm.htm

ALT 0174 may be what you're looking for It gives you ®

BTW, if you had googled for "Registered Trademark" you would have found this
yourself . . . .

Locate Character Map (most likely in your 'accessories' folder).. or go to
START and the the 'RUN' box and type in <charmap.exe>.. not only will you
find your preferred symbol, but many many more.. you might also want to look
in the 'wingdings' font..

Thank you John and Mike. I'm really new at this computer stuff and I'll
try your suggestions. I really get frustrated because some things are so
much easier with MSN TV. I know to get the ® on MSN Tv you just use
Alt R and there it is. I'll try your suggestions tomorrow.
Thanks again. I think you have opened up a whole new world for me on the
computer. Rita

This is an Autocorrect feature. Type ( R) enter
open bracket, R close bracket, enter
Same thing for copyright, just change the R for a C

Hmm - I always use "Insert" "Symbol" and select the symbol I want from the
menu - I guess there's probably as many ways to do things as Carter has
peanuts!

You said it!

Try colon, minus sign, close bracket.
colon, minus sign,open bracket.
colon, minus sign, shift "backslash" for "smileys"
or <=>, ==>, <==,-->, and <-- for various arrows.
