How do I turn off automatic symbols

I am trying to type (R) in an outlook program and it keeps reverting to the
registered trademark symbol. How do I stop it from reverting to the
registered trademark symbol:

 

[Roady [MVP]]

Backspace will do. Or remove it from AutoCorrect.

Thanks for the help -- I knew it was something simple and when backspace
wouldn't work I was a little too frazzled to remember the term "autocorrect".
