Tracks Eraser in Giant but not WD, PLEASE ADD via UPDATE

I have found the Tracks Eraser function in the Giant to be great, but it is
missing in WD. Not only that, but WD does not remove cooies.

Iolo System Mechanic (a third party software package) has a great feature
that does this, but the Giant version was highly superior. If anyone has ANY
pull at Microsoft, please release a WD update with this feature.

Also, WD seems to miss things that Iolo System Mechanic, Lavasoft Ad-aware
and ever the goofy little "spyware" scan included in the Yahoo! Toolbar
grabs. This is probably due to the inability of WD to sense cookies.

Like you, I appreciate the functions in GIANT (and MS Antispyware) however, I
believe we need to see WD in another context. As I understand it, from
reading here, WD will eventually become part of Windows and the "track
erasing" will be a part of Internet Explorer 7. Hence, WD will not work as
some of us are used to from other "stand-alone" antispyware products - like
it or not.

As to cookie handling it looks as if almost the same answer applies - this
should be done though IE. From this link:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/about/faq.mspx

Because many cookies are used for legitimate purposes, Microsoft plans to
refine the approach to cookies based on customer feedback received during the
beta period. You can currently manage cookies through your Web browser.

In my experience antispyware scanners tend to supplement each other quite
well. Signature databases are different. Adaware and others will find
"malware" that is not seen by WD and vise versa. Hopefully, and in most cases
I trust, all programs will remove the relevant malware but using different
methods. I do not see any reason to use one antispyware scanner only, when
good free alternatives exists (like Adaware, SpyBot S&D etc.).

Integrate into IE 7?!?! What a joke!

Who the hell uses IE anyway? Not any IT professional I know.

I agree, the tracks eraser was a great tool. why would an 'upgrade' omit such
a wondeful bit of software.
