Tracking

Most of the questions and all of the responses about tracking assume that (1)
you are interested in tracking your own changes and/or (2) that you are
working with a partner (s) and want to see or don't want to see other's
changes. I don't want any of that. I just want to entirely shut the
function off. I had the awful experience of viewing my document (it didn't
show any tracking) and emailing it to a v. i. p. It emailed all the
tracking. I was mortified. I have tried to read all the help items and it
really doesn't tell you how to do it, except document by document. Isn't
there a way to change the default so that it is always off unless you take
the specific step of turning it on?

Track change is off by default unless you turn it on. If you work with
existing documents that show track changes each time you open them and you
don't want to see those changes anymore first make sure track change if off
then using reviewing toolbar either accept all changes or reject all changes
and save the document.
