Tracking spellings in Outlook 2003

How do you set Outlook to track and underline spelling mistakes when writing
an email? We have just had Outlook 2003 SP2 installed and we cannot find this
feature.

Hi Sandra,
There are couple of reasons why the spell check may not be working

1> check whether spell check works in word . If it works , then check this
option in outlook >tools>options>Mail Format>use word 2003 to edit e-mail
messages.
2>check this option .Tools>options.spelling.
Work out with the options mentioned as per your choice , for additional
spell check option click on Auto correct options button.

Inform abt the status.

I have just realised that we have outlook 2003 but only word 2002 installed.
Is that what is causing the problem??

Partially yes!!!!!

Uncheck the option to use word as an e-mail editor mentioned in Step 1.
Also try this Start>run>outlook /safe

Also let us know when the problem occured.
Was spell check working before.

Hi Raj,

Option - use MS office word 2003 is unticked but greyed out.
Spell check is working but is not underlining spelling mistakes. A colleague
with Outlook 2003 (not SP2) is able to create a new message, select tools,
select options and then tick select "check spelling as you type". On Outlook
2003(SP2) there is not an options available when creating a new email. Any
advice greatly appreciated!

That's a Word function and unless you use Word, you do not have the
autospell check. Unless the versions of Word and Outlook agree, you can't
use Word as the mail editor, so you're out of luck.
