Tracking Changes' Balloons not showing in Word 2000

The informaiton that is shown in the balloons on a Word 2002 docuement
are not showning up in a Word 2000 docuement.

I am aware that Word 2000 does not display baloons like 2002 does but
is the information lost when a 2000 user opens a 2002 document?
Should it not be converted?

Any help or guidance that could be offered is greatly appreciated.

The changes should all be there, but in the old format. However,
depending on your settings in Word when the changes were originally made
in Word 2002 they may not be displayed. Go to Tools/Options/Track
Changes and make sure, for example, that "Deletions" is not set to
"Hidden".
