Tracked Changes does not Track

I have been editing a document with Track Changes turned on and it has been
working well. However, I just pasted 4-5 pages from a different document
into the end of my original document. Even though tracked changes are turned
on, when I try to edit the new pages, I do not see any changes tracked.

Why would this happen?

Hi Sandra,

If you had Track Changes turned on when you pasted the new material, that material would consitute a 'change' in its own right.
Editing the new material is effectively treated as little more than a part of that change.

Macropod,

Yes, I see your point. So, I need to accept the new material as a change in
itself before I can actually make further tracked changes to it?

Or else turn off Track Changes before you insert the new text (which
amounts to the same thing but is easier to do because it's a
keystroke, Ctrl-Shift-E, rather than a select-and-mouse-click).

Thank you, Peter!
