I have a Win XP that has one limited account with internet access. The
user can only log off not turn off computer. How can I monitor the times
that users are on the internet using IE6? I have a 7 day history file.Is
the history file dated by time of day?
If though I have a sign saying not to log off, can I monitor if a user
logs off?
What other events can I monitor?

Ive never used this but, open my computer,R.click on C: drive, properties, then
select Quota tab, this regulates times a user can run the computer.

Install some retail spyware. Paranoid/contolling parents/spouses do it all
the time.

The quick, cheap, and dirty way is to make sure you have Administrative access to the users Documents and Settings folder and view their Temporary Internet Files sorted by Last Accessed in Descending order. Here is a sample of my own surfing record:

If you keep scrolling down, you can get idea of how frequently the user is browsing and what sites are visited. Of course, this does nothing to tell you if the user is playing holdem poker online for five hours straight.

I do have admin rights. Thanks I already have a 7 day history and large
TIF folder to monitor if users go to unwanted sites.I was thinking of
installing net nanny or something similar.
I just want to track the times that a computer is used, not by user.
The computer is on 24/7 and and has a power management shutoff for the
monitor. The user just moves the mouse and screen turns on.

Another option could be to enable Password Protect on the screen saver and enable success and failure auditing in the Local Policies.
