Extending the Sytem Event Log

Win XP SP2 -- Is there a place to extend the size of the event
history/system log? I have problems and whatever happened, appears to
have happened on 10/26/11 and it is about to roll off. Hence, i would
like to extend the log.

Not sure what system the Microsoft XP article refers to, but not mine in
any event. Mine is Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event
Viewer>[choose log, right click, choose properties and adjust as desired]

(I doubled the log size)
