Track Changes Problem

I save the document as Final Showing Markup in Word 2002,
so it shows all the track changes. But when I sent it to
anyone esle, they see it in Final Markup, without any
track changes. I found the option to check for Word 2003
(Tools > Options > Security > Make hidden markup visible
when opening or saving) that fixed that, but I need to
know how to fix this in 2002 version. If I create the same
document on the other 2002 system, save it with Final
Showing Markup, when sent to the other people it opens up
with the same markup and not Final as from my system. Is
there an option to check/uncheck that would cause this in
Word 2002?
Thank you!

Hi Mira

In Word 2003, the that Word opens a document with track changes depends on
the setting at Tools > Options > Security > "Make hidden markup visible when
opening or saving".

So in Word 2003, it's the setting on the machine that is opening the
document that determines whether it will be shown as "Final" or "Final with
Markup".

In Word 2002, I find that if I save a document showing "Final with Markup"
and open that document in Word 2002, then it opens showing "Final with
Markup". And if I save a document showing "Final" and open it in Word 2002,
it opens showing "Final".

Word 2002 does not have the "Make hidden markup visible when opening or
saving" setting available. It's new in Word 2003 as a security measure, to
give the reader control over whether a document opens with markup showing.

By the way, make sure that all the people with Word 2002 have updated their
versions of Word. You can do this online at
http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/mainCatalog.aspx?CTT=98.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Shauna. It seems that it's an issue on my 2002
system. Anytime I save it in Final Showing, it will open
in Final on the other 2002 systems. Any suggestions?
