Track Changes - Final With Markup not saving

I have a client with Word 2002. She has a document with
changes tracked. The status shows as 'Final Showing
Markup' and she saves it. However when she reopens the
document, it show Final and no changes show. This is
going to the prez of the company, so it has to be right.
Since the document was confidential I'm not able to play
with the original document, but I did see her save it and
reopen as I described. None of the changes have been
accepted or rejected. I tried to recreate the scenario on
my PC, but it worked fine for me. Any ideas why this
might be happening?

Thanks in advance!
Carla

Do you see changes if you change the view to Final Showing Markup? Do you
see changes in the Final view if you accept or reject all changes?

If the client changes to Final Showing Markup it does
show her the markup. Unfortunately this document is very
confidential, so there is no one else to send it to that
could test it including myself. That makes it darn near
impossible to troubleshoot. I can remote into her machine
and see how it reacts on her machine. She has not
accepted or rejected changes, but I had her test that and
she does not see the changes.

Thanks,
Carla

If changes have been accepted, then the new (changed) version should be
displayed in Final. But you won't see the "changes"--that is, you won't see
markup or change bars. Nor will you see these in Final before changes have
been accepted. And of course if the changes are rejected, then the original
text will be displayed.

So what options should she chose if she wants to email
this document to the president showing markup changes for
his approval? He will be the one accepting or rejecting
the changes.

Thanks,
Carla

Send it with changes and tell him to view it in the Final Showing Markup
view.
