Hello Michele:

Were you running an updated version of Windows Defender?

Do you have any comprehensive antimalware applications installed?

Try downloading/updating/running the freeware versions of:

MBAM from <http://www.malwarebytes.org/> Run in Normal Mode.
SAS from <http://www.superantispyware.com/> Run in Safe Mode.

Please post a follow-up to this thread with your progress.

Hello Michele,

Total Security is a dangerous rogue antispyware program that claims to be
legitimate, when in fact it is actually spyware itself. The program will
consistently bombard your computer with popups and fake security alerts, all
of which are designed to scam you into purchasing bogus security software.

In addition, Total Security will attempt to gain access to your sensitive
information by logging keystrokes and internet activity and sending that
information to a remote server.

Do a full scan with MalwaÑeBytes' and
SUPERAntiSpywaÑe.

Reboot

After the software is updated, it is suggested scanning the system in Safe
Mode.

SUPERAntiSpyware just put up a Online Safe Scan at
<http://www.superantispyware.com/onlinescan.html>
if you cannot install and/or run the current SUPERAntiSpyware product due to
an infection.
Reboot
