Total Newbie to Windows XP Embedded

Hello,
I am interested in learning Windows XP Embedded programming but know absolutely nothing about it. What tools do I need? Should I buy the Toolkit or use the evaluation version? What language(s) does XP Embedded programming use? Also, what are some good resources to learn more about XP Embedded programming?

Thanks for your input in advance,
Clem

Clem,

Programming for Xpe has the same requirements as XP Pro. You just need to
watch you application dependencies, sometimes you get more than you
bargained for. If you want a good book about XP Embedded I heard that MS
uses the following books by Sean Liming:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...002-3119313-1863205?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

and

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the quick response.. What programming languages do I need
to learn (if any) before I can do XPe programming?

Thanks again,
Clem

There is no programming language for Windows XP Embedded.
Knowledge of making batch files or scripts is optional. And if you want to make application any programming language for Windows
will do the job.

Best regards,
Slobodan

Since XPE is binary compatible with XP Pro, anything you can write for
XP Pro, in any language, will run on XPE.
