Toshiba Software Modem AMR

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1400 laptop which no longer accepts going into
Standby mode. I keep getting the message that "the device driver of the
Toshiba Software Modem AMR has prevented the system going into standby. What
should I do to revert this?
