Top of page when hitting back button

Can anyone let me know if they are experiencing this
issue. I go to a web site that has notes for me for maybe
50 different items. I hit a button on the web page to
take me to the notes. When I hit the back button in the
browser after reviewing the notes it brings me back to
the previous page at the top instead of where i left off.
I just got a new laptop and it has IE6. My old laptop had
IE 5 and would take me back to where i had left off
instead of the top of the page. Please help this is very
time consuming.

I tested this by going to this site as an example http://wally.rit.edu/instruction/web/htmltags/tutorial.html#toc, navigating to another site, and back to this site, and my bookmarks worked fine.. Are you running IE6 gold? What OS? If so, you may want to update with the latest service packs, also set any settings in the advanced tab of the Internet Options to 'Default". Clear your temp files out as well. It would help with the site this is occuring on, maybe the site is set to refresh. I tried several different types of websites using bookmarks and could not repro.
I just wonder if its always the same webpage these notes are on.
