Top & Left properties

Hi,
I'm trying to use the .top and .left properties to place an address in
different places on a report bases on a field on the form that calls the
report. My page size is 8 1/2 X 11. I get the left property to work ok but
I'm having problems with the top property. If I try to set the top to a
value greater than about 4000 I get the error "The control or subform control
is too large for this location" In some cases I want to place the address
about half way down the page. At a value of 4000 I only get about 3 inches.
Is there a way to do this???? Also, what is the correlaton between the
values and inches?? The best I can figure out is that a value of 1425 equals
about 1 inch.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks,

The measurements you are using are TWIPs (1440 to the inch - if I recall
correctly).

The problem is that you are moving the control inside a section of the
report. So unless the section is high enough the control will bump into the
section's boundary. If you set the top of the control to 4500 and the
control has a height of 140 then the section (detail section?) must have a
height of at least 4640.

So you proabably have to set the height of the section to something larger.
