TOOLBARS DONT LOCK

using winxp pro sp2
i position the toolbars in the positions tht i like them and then i hit the
lock the toolbars. (view-toolbars-lock the toolbars) the toolbar in
question(the earthlink toolbar) jumps down to under the address bar and locks
their

if i try to exit IE with the toolbar where i want it also doesnt save the
setting ..

i need that toolbar up but i dont like it in the way!!

Any ideas anyone

i dont have google toolbar
but i installed google toolbar especially to use that utility and it still
didnt work

Hi Stilty :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

First: Log on as Administrator
Go to Control Panel>Add/Remove programs
Scroll down and see if there is anything in the list that you personally did
not install or know was installed. Especially, anything that looks like a
3rd party program. If you find anything of that sort, uninstall it. Close
out of Control Panel and reboot. Open IE and try your settings again and see
if they hold.

also try....

Open IE>UNlock Toolbars, close
Re-open IE>Customize to your preferences
Hold Cntrl Key down and close IE
Re-open IE. If settings held then lock Toolbars
Log out>Log in again as Administrator, open IE and see if the stetting sitll
stayed in place.

and...

Repair, or Restore Missing Toolbar
