Toolbar on desktop moves all by itself after adding password

Hi,

I have a strange error on my Windows XP Home. I make good
use of the hidden toolbar feature on the top, left and
right sides of the desktop. (This has nothing to do with
the taskbar which is located on the bottom) I'm the
computer administrator and if I decide to have a password
for my account my toolbar on the top of my desktop moves
all by itself over to the left. I even tried to move it
back to the top and restart the computer but it again
moved back to the left. Now if I remove the password it
is fine no problems. Anyone know how to fix this or
anyone ever had this problem?

Thanks

Hi kelly, I think that when he adds a password then his settings are not
saved correctly. Perhaps his computer crashes and automatically restarts...

I am just guessing but he could try to disable the automatic restart of xp
when an error occures, and see if he has something crashing.

Perhaps a driver crashing?

And/Or trying to logg off (not switch user) instead of restarting.... By
trying to logg of perhaps the settings will be saved?

The thing is that his settings perhaps are not saved when he adds a password
and that is why he sees the toolbar at different location than he had last.

Dlope? Do you know how to see the errors in the EVENT VIEWER and look if you
have errors?

will know if my advice helped them or not.
