toolbar is gone, I tools, customize, options, show toolbar light

My formatting toolbar is not on my microsoft word 2003 screen. I follow
directions,
tools
customize
options
but "show standard and formatting toolbars on two rows"
is light cannot be clicked.

I'm sure this will be in the link Suzanne gave you, but under Tools >
Customize > toolbars, make sure Formatting is checked. (it's near the top -
out of alphabetic order)
