To the right of my Start button I used to have some
shortcut icons which I found very convient to say the
least. Suddenly Those were replaced by part of my Windows
Exployer beginnihg with My Docs and several other folders
within My Docs. I don't want my Windows Exployer (or parts
of my Windows Exployer) there. I do I get rid of that so
I can start draging my most popular shortcuts to that bar?

Right click on your task bar, go to toolbars, make sure Quick Launch is
enabled, and disable any others you don't want to see...
