Too many of any gadgets?

My mom used my computer and while (adding) the sidebar calculators didn't
pop-up right away, she kept pressing the calc. button. Consequently, I've
got... A LOT of the basic calculators on my sidebar. There are so many that
it locks up my computer altogether if I try to change ANYTHING with the
sidebar, especially if i try to remove any of the calculators from the list
of running gadgets!

Please HELP!!

I love the sidebar but my only option is to shut the sidebar down completely
before I do anything. I`ve even tried working with the sidebar properties
Safe Mode with no luck AT ALL.

Why don't you close a few gadgets? Put your mouse over the gadget - and "x"
and a wrench appear in the top right corner outside the gadget. Click the x
to close it.

I've tried that. If I try to close any gadget, it just locks up everything,
just like from the running gadget list.
