My sidebar rearranges my gadgets

The sidebar is a great idea... HOWEVER!

I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 and every time I boot or restart the computer,
my sidebar gadgets load out of order and I have to rearrange them back the
way I want.

Is there a way to lock them into place On the Sidebar so that I don't have
to move them every time I boot up?

This is one of the actual bugs in Vista. It is not that the gadgets are
being rearranged. It is just that Vista forgets the arrangement you have
chosen. Hopefully this will be fixed in SP1.

With the millions of beta testers they had how the hell could they miss
that before release?

Well, in one case, I found that using a cleaning program and deleting Window
Log files was causing a problem.

I'm feeling very generous tonight and will say that since the issue was
reported during the public betas, it wasn't fixed because of prioritization
of issues. ;) While I agree it is frustrating, some would say it is cosmetic.

I am very happy to have stumbled upon this topic. It is nice to at least
know it is a bug.

It is somewhat workable as it is right now with just the one sidebar panel,
but for users that use more than one panel, I can see this being a real pain.

As best as I can tell, the settings.ini file located here:
....\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar
looks to be correct. It shows the right gadgets and the correct docking
order.

I agree, and hope this fix makes it into sp1.
