TOC hyperlinks with accents & small caps effect

The TOC is generated from headings which include accent marks (for foriegn
language characters). But, when the TOC is generated if small caps is
selected on the TOC style the accents do not appear.

For example,

Original heading - Répertoires spéciaux

Expected TOC entry - RÉPERTOIRES SPÉCIAUX

How TOC entry appears - REPERTOIRES SPECIAUX

Is this a bug in Word? How can this be corrected?

You might try this: On the Edit tab of Tools | Options, check the box for
"Enforce accented uppercase in French."
