Hi there,

I have a problem with one of our PC's that is not on our domain.

When they turn the PC on they see the welcome message "to begin click your
username", but there are no icons to click!

The only icon that is available is Shut Down.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,
Steve.

I have never heard of this problem but could only be possible if a newly
installed program make this happen or someone log in to inbuilt Administrator
account and delete all the other accounts.

Try this

For Windows XP Professional
===================

At the login screen, press CTRL+ALT+DEL key twice to bring up to User Name
and Password dialog box. In the user name type Administrator and in password
type the password used at the time of installation (mostly no password).

If you can login to inbuilt Administrator account then try checking your
other Users in Control Panel. Do they exist or have been deleted? Create a
new user account and then try login to that account.

For Windows XP Home Edition
===================

Restart your computer and after the POST screen repaidly press F8 key in 1
sec. gap to bring up the Advance Option menu and press Enter on Safe Mode.
See, if you have Administrator account in the User list. if you are able to
login then try the rest as above.

If creating a new user doesn't help then try System Restore to previous date.

Hope this help, let us know!
