i have a problem that is puzzling me. one user, the only xp pro/xp office
user has a .tmp file created on a shared folder each time he opens and saves
an excel spreadtsheet to the shared folder or locally.
anybody have clue
 
What are you asking about? This is how Excel works, when a user goes to save,
there is a tmp file created, data stored and the tmp file is supposed to be
deleted/released. Most of the times it does not happen.

This is one of the main reasons files get corrupted when they are being saved
directly to a floppy -- Excel needs double the file space to be able to save
it -- users tend to think ooo 1.1 mb file, it can fit on a 1.44 mb floppy
