.TMP files

Am I right in thinking that anything with a .tmp extension can be safely
deleted? I was looking up on Google to try and find out what A~NSUSu_.exe
was which was in the Programs in Zone Alarm. On reading the results someone
suggested doing a search for *.tmp files and deleting any that were found.
I found 27 and have placed them in the Recycle Bin. I always understood
that anything that was put in the Temp folders were deleting on shutting
down the computer? I would appreciate some clarification on what the
situation is. I would like to keep my machine as tidy as possible and let
it not get cluttered with unnecessary files.

Hi

Reboot your system - after that any .TMP files that are remaining can be
deleted.

Thanks Will is there a particular folder where I should be looking for these
files? After I deleted the files before (there was a couple that it wouldn't
allow me to delete, guess the system was using them) I rebooted system and
it started okay. Is it safe to now remove them from the Recycle Bin?

Hi

Any .TMP files that are in the Recycle Bin can be deleted. Have a look in
the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\<your account name>\Local Settings\Temp

Just been and had a look and I don't have that path. There is no Local
Settings under my Documents and Settings

Sorry found it now, I had to change the view to Show hidden files. There
are loads in there, so I take it I need to follow your instructions as I
understand it, reboot, go straight to that folder, delete files
