tmp files

when I close an Excell file a tmp file is saved in the same folder
This means I have to delete the tmp file. After a while my bin is full of these files
I do not want to know why this is happening, I want to stop these tmp files from being created and saved.

Do these files have a .tmp for an extension?

If yes, is there any chance that your antivirus is doing this?

(I've never seen excel do this on its own.)
