TM-U220 receipt printer install

I have plugged a TM-U220d receipt printer into my pc LPT1
and installed its latest 2.10 driver. But this install
creates a new version of the LPT1 port and will not apply
to LPT1 itself. I can get no printing. Any suggestions ?
