Time to format... Best way to back up XP updates?

My XP home has too many problems and restore no longer
wants to work....
It's time to format and reload again.

I really do not want to go through reloading a few
hundred updates for 24 hours so what is the best way to
back up all my windows XP updates so that they can be
loaded and installed easily again after I am done
relaoding XP?
 
John, it maybe too late if you want to format. Next time try downloading
from the Windows Catalog and save the Updates
on a CD or make an Image of your System using Drive Image or Ghost.
