Time Service problem

I have XP Pro with SP2 and all the hot fixes installed. When I start my PC
the Time Service starts automatically. After about 2 hours it stops and the
internet time syncronisation stops with an RPC Server error. If I restart the
Time Service needless to say it syncronises the time again perfectly. This
has been going on for a few weeks and I cannot find a solution. Does anyone
have one? TIA.

I am not quite sure which 'Time Service' you are talkeing about.

If your concern is the time-of-day reported by the system:

I suggest you use your favorite search engine looking for NISTIME. This
program is published by NIST and is free.

You can configure it to query one of NIST time servers to correct your clock
as frequently as once per hour, correct for daylight time when appropriate
and report corrections to your clockin a file.

I have been using it for eight years without any problems.
