Time Outs

I have just upgraded my PC which dual booted on 98 and
NT4 to XP, and at the same time to Internet Explorer 6.0.

Since then i continually get time-out messages.

any clues what i should change?

When do these time-outs occur?

If when trying to send email, disable email scanning by your anti-virus
software.
